Assistant Professor of Athletic Coaching Education
Dr. Roch King is an Assistant Professor in the Athletic Coaching Program and Co-director of the Center for Applied Coaching and Sport Science at West Virginia University. His primary focus is the Philosophy of Coaching. Prior to arriving at WVU, Roch served as the Head Age Group Coach with Carmel Swim Club of Indiana and an Assistant Coach with the Carmel High School Greyhounds.  Carmel Swim Club is a Top Rated Club in the Central Zone by USA Swimming and The Carmel High School Girls Swimming & Diving Team currently hold the longest active streak of High School State Championships (currently at 29) in the nation. Roch has served Indiana Swimming as a member of the Zone All-Star staff for both the Age-Group and Senior levels.

Since earning his doctorate in Sports Psychology from Temple University, Roch has held faculty positions in Physical Education, Sport, and Exercise Science at the United States Sports Academy, the University of Indianapolis, Ball State University, and Bloomsburg University. He served as the President of the National Council for the Accreditation of Coaching Education from 2004 - 2006. Dr. King has coached or taught a wide variety of sports and held coaching certifications from the National Governing Body for Swimming, Volleyball, and Water Polo.

Roch has been a trainer with PCA since 2000 and has presented over 120 workshops in over 30 different states.
